Lion's Gate Bridge - Vancouver, BC

Thank you to my chiropractor, Benita from Ocean Wellness for once again helping me in a pinch. I feel so much better once I’ve seen her because my body is in alignment and it moves smoothly and with ease. I am very blessed to have her in my life.

Tina’s Inner Gandhi:

The best facelift is a smile!

Did You Say SHOES?

I needed new shoes and once again, LadySport came to the rescue. I got the exact same pair of Mizunos because that brand seems to work for me. As usual, they gave me EXCEPTIONAL service and you just feel like you are surrounded by friends. They are having a HUGE SALE right now so don’t miss out on all the good stuff such as shoes, bras, skorts, rain gear (it’s coming whether we like it or not!) and so much more!

Long Jog Silver And Awaaay:

It’s a chaotic time and so I looked forward to this long jog to help me get centered and focused with my intentions. I did my usual route across Lion’s Gate and Burrard Street Bridge and it was a gorgeous but hot day. I felt good until around 26K and then it got really hard. There was plenty of self-talk happening to pull me through the final miles.

Long Jogs PART TWO – How To Get Through In One Piece – Training Tips Based On My Experience:

1.TALK NICE! – I won’t pretend and tell you long jogs aren’t difficult. They can be tough and so it’s extremely important to be kind to yourself when you are out there. I really moniter my thoughts and talk to myself with encouragement and positive energy. Be your own cheerleader. I’ll expand on this in the weeks to come.

2. LISTEN TO MUSIC – Ok, I get it now! I have been jogging in silence with just my thoughts and that really works for me. Jogging with music does help pass the time as you log on the miles and can give you a little burst of energy right when you need it.

3. MENTAL CHECK – Make sure you don’t enter a long run with the mindset of it being hard, because if you do, guarantee, it will be a difficult run. I don’t like running alone all the time but if I’m going to reach my goal I have to run, alone or not. For the long jogs I mentally start preparing myself the night before so I begin the run with positive thoughts and clarity. “This is going to be a great run!” gets me much further than “This is going to be so hard!”

4. BE AN OBSERVER – Do you know how many wonderful things I’ve seen jogging? I’ve ran by a whale that was right by the shore, I’ve seen eagles, harbour seals, herons and fish jumping. I’ve witnesses weddings, rock art, music, interesting conversations, found new restaurants and shops and I’m pretty sure I’ve ran past some celebrities. Observe the world around you, it’s very interesting and keeps you entertained.

It’s suppose to be another BEAUTIFUL weekend! The nights are arriving sooner so make sure you get out and enjoy the gorgeous sunshine while we still have our summer. It is a BLESSING and you’ll remember the memories of friends having a picnic far more than whether that pile of laundry got done.

With a smile,

Tina

Manifest Your BEST LIFE – The POWER of POSITIVE Thinking

My Lovely New Apartment!

“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have a lot of change in my life and I’m being forced to embrace‘ this change. I currently LOVE where I live and was devastated that circumstances out of my control are forcing me out of my home. I was angry, sad, fearful, disappointed and resentful.

My fear and anger stem from my past. I moved a lot as a kid and that pattern continued into my adulthood. I think I’ve moved over 35 times to date! I hate moving, and yet, I keep moving.

What’s going on? Is it all circumstantial or is it intentional? Is it past patterns manifesting in my current life? What am I doing to create this? Why is stability so difficult?

My current home is bright, spacious, in a lovely neighbourhood with a stunning and inspiring view. I love it and was so happy to move here. It immediately felt like a ‘home’ to me…and now I must leave it behind.

I made a DECISION to not step backwards with this move but continue to step forward. What this means is I had certain ‘expectations’ and desires of what I wanted my next place to look like.

I made a very detailed list right to what kind of flooring, appliances and other features I desired. I also wanted brand new.

I then found the place I had described. I wanted it so badly, I was almost begging for it. I gave every possible reference imaginable and waited, wishing and hoping they’d choose me. I felt desperate and spent days in high anxiety and fear. I thought,

“They aren’t going to accept me. They won’t like the dog. I don’t even know if I can afford it. I won’t get it.”

Negative

Negative

Negative

After a long jog I realized I was investing thoughts into that old core belief of not feeling like I deserved it…and my thoughts proved to be correct. They did not choose me.

Did this stop me? NO, I was determined to live in this building. I loved it and I wanted to move from one place I loved to an equally or more inspiring space. This was extremely important to me. I refused to settle. I made it my business to live in this building. No option to fail.

So a week ago I post a Facebook status that said, “Ok Monday, give me what I want.”

I found another apartment in that same building. I marched in there as if it were mine. I handed the agent my references and with total confidence knew I was an exceptional choice for this apartment.

I got the place.

You’ve heard it a thousand times:

YOUR THOUGHTS HAVE POWER.

But which power are you choosing?

Your thoughts can connect to greatness, or they can connect to suffering.

My story of the apartment is a great example. When my thoughts were negative I did not get the apartment and when I DECIDED to change my thoughts I signed the deal and will be moving into the place of my vision. Both had power and both became true.

Negative or Positive?

Which do you choose? What are you choosing right now?

Choose POSITIVE THOUGHTS, POSITIVE ACTION and POSITIVE INTENTIONS.

You always have a CHOICE…and if the negative hasn’t been working for you, can’t hurt to try some positive thoughts! I realize sometimes this is easier said than done however keep at it. If I hadn’t decided to try again, I would not be moving into this lovely and inspiring place.

Manifest the life you deserve.

Manifest JOY, LOVE, ABUNDANCE, SECURITY, LOYALTY, AUTHENTICITY, TRAVEL, LAUGHTER and in my case, a lovely apartment!

Create powerful positive thoughts and I guarantee you, if those thoughts are spoken with CONVICTION you will SUCCEED.

BELIEVE IT. KNOW IT. LIVE IT. MANIFEST IT. CELEBRATE IT!

With a smile,

Tina

Long Jogs: PART ONE – How To Get Through In One Piece – Training Tips Based On My Experience:

1. PLAN YOUR MEALS – Make sure you’ve planned your meals the day before. The best meal for me so far is pasta with chicken, mashed potatoes and bread. Definitely filling my tank with carbs but it worked as I ran a solid half marathon the following day with lots of energy despite a wicked sore throat.

2. WORK OUT YOUR ‘STUFF’ – If you are jogging alone the long jogs can be tough. It’s a good time to think about relationships, stress at work or unprocessed pain from the past. It’s a place to feel your feelings, and then release them through the physical activity. I can’t stress how healing long jogs have been for me.

3. HITTING A WALL? I ran almost 30K this past weekend and there were moments I really struggled. I made a choice and took a couple minutes to stop and watch some baby ducks in a pond. I wasn’t there long but needed that small break to recharge not just my body but my negative thinking. It was a meditation: a calming, quieting of the mind so I could focus on the rest of the miles ahead of me.

4. HAVE A MOTTO – I can’t tell you how often a motto has saved my jogs. “I feel GOOD I feel STRONG”. If I repeat that over and over again it’s very difficult for “I feel tired, I feel hungry, I feel sore, I feel done” etc to enter my head. It’s also a great way to deal with life. Do you choose POSITIVE or negative thoughts? There’s always a CHOICE.

A special THANK YOU to Benita, my chiropractor from Ocean Wellness. I knew I was out of alignment and from past experience I also know if you run a long jog that way you are going to suffer during and afterwards. I was so grateful she saw me before I ran almost 30K on Saturday. After the adjustment I felt more fluid. THANK YOU BENITA!

It’s been a week full of blessings and gratitude. For this coming weekend, surround yourself with the people that make you LAUGH, give you HUGS and EMPOWER you. Don’t settle for anything less than what you deserve. If you don’t know what you deserve, click HERE.

Jogging With Music – Training Tips Based On My Experience:

I have been jogging silently, with just my thoughts for 2 years and loving it. I have processed past pain, made excellent decisions, heard and listened to my INSTINCT and became the person I always knew existed but could never quite access. This past week, with my new Iphone, which has an Ipod (another new gadget for me!), I ran with music. This is what I learned:

1. RUN FORREST RUN - I run faster with music! I have to be careful because I was grooving and dancing and waving my hands in the air doing drum solos and guitar riffs and next thing you know it’s 15 minutes later and I’ve missed my walk breaks. Must keep to tempo, even with music. This will be tough for me.

2. BE AWARE - I had one earphone in my ear so I was still very aware of my surroundings. I could hear footsteps behind me if I needed to move to the right to let someone pass and I could still enjoy the glorious sound of waves.

3. GET COMFORTABLE - The arm band doesn’t work for me. I probably had it too tight but if I loosened it, it slipped down to my elbow. I took it off my arm and attached it to my waist pack. That worked much better.

4. THAT WAS RUNTASTIC - I downloaded a free ap on my IPhone called “Runtastic.” It shows me where I’m running, how far, what pace and speed I averaged, elevation and how many calories I burned. I LOVE THIS AP!

5. MOVE IT GROOVE IT – Because music is in my blood, I don’t think I’m capable of not singing and grooving to the music. Because of this, I get winded so I plan on training with music one time a week where I groove and naturally push my speed and for the long distance I’ll have to be extra careful I don’t push it as I’ll burn out half way through. I have to say, I was loving the music this week. Thank you Iphone!

I’ve had some challenges, fear mixed with anxiety and tests of faith the last couple of days. Life’s uncertainty and things out of my control have forced me to BREATHE, LET GO and TRUST IN WHAT I BELIEVE. It’s been difficult but also an opportunity to put into practise what I’ve learned about how I respond to things. I haven’t been perfect that’s for sure, but I’m aware and continue to move FORWARD.

Have a beautiful weekend! If it rains, make your own sunshine by doing a little SELF care or surprise someone with a thoughtful note, an offer to help pull weeds or pay for the person’s coffee behind you in the drive through.

Random acts of kindness always bring out the warmth of the sun.

I have a GREAT blog for Tuesday. Make sure you sign up or bookmark this site so you don’t miss it!

Just DANCE!

This past weekend I was fortunate to have a little getaway just past the border. Our neighbours in the United States were extremely friendly, kind and overly generous. I went down to the Seattle area to unwind, go on a date (practise makes perfect) and do a little shopping.

I also went to an amazing concert.

The Chateau Ste. Michelle is a large winery in Washington and they hold a fabulous summer concert series. It just so happened that the Gipsy Kings were playing on Sunday night and I got to go!

It was a warm, summer night and hundreds if not thousands of people arrived with their blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets FULL of amazing food. These people really know how to put out a spread. They had everything from Indian food to seafood, your traditional cheese, crackers and grapes to cupcakes and birthday cake. It was a happy, well prepared crowd.

Since the concert is at the winery it was lovely to sit under the sun and then into the gorgeous evening sipping wine and listening to incredible music. We sat and talked and laughed and chit chatted with the friendly people beside us. It was so much FUN!

When the music started I looked around and many people were doing as I was, bouncing around and grooving to the music. How can you not?! It’s dancing music if I ever heard any.

The second set I couldn’t contain myself…sometimes you have to get up and just DANCE! And that is exactly what I did. In that moment, gone are the thoughts of stress around money, work, my car, my family or my friends. Gone is any anxiety or worry or feelings of unease. All I could feel was the music and the beautiful, clear night and the pure JOY and GRATITUDE I felt for being there and dancing.

Dancing is like singing. Everyone should have the right to dance and sing out loud. Who cares if you aren’t graceful or sing in tune! Be BRAVE and express yourself through music. It’s a glorious way to let go and just be FREE. Moving your body gets rid of static or negative energy. It’s good for you!

This past weekend was a blessing and although I came home to stress and worry I will not allow that negativity to take away my perfect weekend. It will not pass over me like a cloud and darken my mood.

As I posted on Facebook:

“How is it that I get to feel so HAPPY in the wake of such uncertainty? GRATITUDE defined.”

Remember, as the Lee Ann Womak song says,

“And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance…I HOPE YOU DANCE!”

With a smile,

Tina
